• Experienced IELTS teachers
• $95 including access to the ELA's Study Centre on day of workshop. Plus free use of the ELA's Study Centre when you register for the next IELTS exam at the ELA
• Small class sizes. Minimum 6-12 students
• Specifically prepared material by experienced teachers that focuses on the IELTS Writing and Reading bands
• Suitable for candidates who have a minimum IELTS 6.0 and need a higher band score in Writing and/or Reading

The course is 4 hours on a Saturday between 9am-1pm.
Note: A minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent is required to enrol in the workshops

Writing for IELTS

Understand the two task types

• Task 1 - Learn to analyse data; Summarize data accurately
• Task 2 - Learn to fully answer the questions; Structure essays effectually

Create a suitable plan

Answer the question fully

Produce essays with high levels of cohesion & coherence

Use academic vocabulary accurately and flexibly

Use appropriate organizational structure,register and a variety of language

Boost grammar & vocabulary for higher scores

Reading for IELTS

Identify key problem areas

Strategies for all the question types

• Short answer (no more than 3 words)
• Multiple choice
• Yes/No/Not Given, T/F/NG
• Paragraph headings
• Matching information /Features
• Note/Table completion
• Flow chart
• Labeling a diagram
• Summary completion

Strategies for the reading text types

• The passages
• Orientating yourself to the text, headings,paragraphs
• Scanning for specific detail and skimming for general understanding
• Identifying main and supporting ideas
