A month ago, 40 outstanding students from Hangzhou Normal University, supported by the Jack Ma Foundation programme, travelled over10,000 kilometres from China to New Zealand to begin their study tour at ELA.
Their programme at ELA was specially designed for future educators, combining Upper-Intermediate and Advanced level in General English classes with highly targeted English for Education courses. As part of the University of Auckland, ELA also arranged six education-themed workshops delivered by university professors and course managers, ensuring the students enjoyed a truly meaningful and inspiring summer abroad.
To give them deeper insights into New Zealand’s education system, the group visited Tamaki College, where they quickly connected with local students — chatting, taking photos together, and sharing moments of genuine friendship.
We wish all the Hangzhou Normal University students a safe trip home and great success in their future teaching careers.
