A recent visit to Kobe Gakuin University's Faculty of Global Communication provided an opportunity to celebrate a longstanding partnership between our institutions and discuss plans for future collaboration. During the visit, representatives from the University of Auckland's English Language Academy (ELA) met with faculty members to reflect on recent student mobility activities and explore opportunities for continued engagement.

The visit coincided with a notable milestone for both institutions. This year, ELA welcomed its tenth group of students from the Faculty of Global Communication, while the faculty itself recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.

In Japanese, the character for ten, 十 (jū), represents a complete set, making it a fitting symbol for a partnership that has developed steadily over the past decade. What began as a student mobility initiative has grown into a valued relationship built on shared educational goals, strong institutional connections, and a commitment to providing meaningful international experiences for students.

We would particularly like to acknowledge Prof Junko Omotedani and her colleagues at Kobe Gakuin University, whose commitment to international education has helped shape a successful partnership between our institutions over many years. We greatly value Professor Omotedani's leadership and support and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the years ahead.
