Update: 14 April 2020
From the Director of the University of Auckland’s English Language Academy:
Since Wednesday 25 March the ELA has been delivering all of its classes online as a result of NZ moving to Lockdown status level 4. I continue to be impressed by the commitment and hard work of all of our staff. Our teachers had to suddenly shift from teaching in a classroom to using new ‘remote’ ways of working and adopting new tools and technologies. Our Student Services team could no longer ask students to ‘pop in’ to discuss an issue or a student’s attendance. Staff continue to work hard to ensure that students know that we are here to support them in their studies during these challenging times. The Academic Managers at the ELA have done a tremendous amount of work to bring forward the start date for the introduction of Canvas (learning management system). I would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work and commitment to our students.
We will continue to monitor the situation daily and follow advice from the NZ Government, the University of Auckland and other official authorities.
