New Zealand's Capital City | Thursdays with Towa

Today, I want to share my memories from Wellington. Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. I went there to compete in the National Cross Country Championships. Before going there, I heard that Wellington is compact and tidy but windy. Indeed, Wellington is known as a Windy City which reflects the rugby union team name based in Wellington - Hurricanes. However, there was no wind! Once you walk by the sea, you can feel relaxed and filled because its atmosphere is quite different from Auckland. Of course, there are a lot of government offices and ancient buildings. Especially, the parliament building named the Bee Hive is a big architectural government house. Even though I went to only race, it was still memorable.

Also, Cuba Road - the main road in Wellington - is a old looking road. You can feel as if you are walking in a scene from Western cinema. Also Hunt Valley is a really nice hiking spot. You can be satisfied with sounds of birds and streams, with the nice scenery and clear air. If you have enough time to go there, I would recommend going! It takes only 1 hour by plane from Auckland airport. I guarantee you can enjoy this cool, compact and tidy capital!
